Predictions on the Presidency of “The Donald”

  1. Trillion Dollar Infrastructure:  nope, this will not happen as Congress will not write a check to “The Donald” for that much money to give to private-equity firms to take over public infrastructure.
  2. Very Large Tax Breaks:  yep, bigger than Reagan and W. combined; the argument is that leaving more money in the pockets of the wealthy will induce these people to invest in the United States.  Been there, did that, and brought back a tee-shirt: it is not going to work this time around just it failed under Reagan and W.
  3. Manufacturing in the United States (part 1): yep, because the CEOs of the largest firms in the United States are far smarter then “The Donald”.  Both “The Donald” and Congress will grant extensive concessions to the manufacturing firms to keep the manufacturing plants in the United States. The problem with manufacturing anything in the United States is that the workers, especially union workers, want to be paid $40 per hour and then they want to purchase Levi 501 jeans for $30.  Nope, it ain’t goin a work!
  4. Manufacturing in the United States (part 2): robots.  Within less than five years, almost all manufacturing will be performed by robots.  Within ten years, any job that a human can do, a robot will be doing faster, cheaper, and better than any human can do it.  Good luck to the 61MM people, comprised in large part by uneducated white males, who believe that the companies in the S&P 500 or “The Donald” have their best interest in mind.
  5. The Wall:  nope, $10B-plus for a barrier that will not even keep a tarantula wasp south of the border.  Been there, did that, brought back a tee-shirt with drug runners.  Did not work then, will not work now.
  6. Obama Care:  yep, Congress will repeal the law; nope, Congress will not come up with a viable alternative system.  Good luck to the 61MM people, comprised in large part by uneducated white males, who believe that either the insurance companies, the Congress, or “The Donald” have their best interest in mind.
  7. Jared Kushner:  yep, he will be the de facto president of the United States by August 2017.  Good luck to the 61MM people, comprised in large part by uneducated white males, who believe that anyone in the world actually cares about them or have their best interest in mind.
  8. Congress (part 1):  members of the congressional Republican Party will eat each other over the various spending proposals that “The Donald” will send to the Capital.  Of course, the Republicans will accuse the Democrats of being obstructionist.
  9. Congress (part 2):  the Democrats will take control of both Houses of Congress in 2018.
  10. Dow:  14,000 by 31st December 2017.

I hope that this helps.
